Swansea Bay heroes
The Swansea Bay Heroes 2024 will honour those community heroes who have gone above and beyond in Swansea, Carmarthenshire or Neath Port Talbot in the last 12 months.

All of our shortlisted finalists will be celebrated at our glittering awards ceremony taking place on Friday, 2nd February 2024.
You may nominate an individual or group in as many categories as you wish. However, a separate entry form must be completed for each nomination.

The nominations close end of day on Monday, 30th October 2023. There are 14 categories to choose from.​

Community Hero
This award recognises an unsung individual who has worked, often unseen, for the benefit of the community. This could be an individual who has made a real and positive impact or gone above and beyond their role for the benefit of the community.
Bluelight Hero
This award recognises the everyday heroes working for the NHS, emergency services, social care sector or armed forces. Let us know who has inspired you with their positive attitude, a willingness to help in whatever capacity necessary, and an ongoing commitment to excellence.
Teacher or Mentor
Do you know a teacher who has really stepped up to help educate young people? Or a mentor who has helped you or someone you know grow as a person and become the best version of yourself?
Charity Hero
This category reflects someone who has selflessly given their time to raise funds for a charity, and to ultimately make a difference in other people’s lives.
Sporting Hero
This award will recognise an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to local sport. They could be a player, coach or volunteer.
Great Neighbour
Does your neighbour make a difference to your life or the lives of the people in your community?
This award is a chance for you to say thank you to a neighbour or group of neighbours who go out of their way to help others, someone who shows kindness, compassion and consideration.
Bravery
This is awarded to someone who has shown exceptional courage, defiance or duty in the face of perceived danger, fear or difficulty.
Green Hero
The award will go to an outstanding individual who inspires others to care for the environment, or brings environmental projects to life. This could be someone who litterpicks; has developed a wildlife area or works to make our community a greener and more sustainable place to live..
Arts & Culture Hero
An individual or organisation who positively impacts the cultural environment of our region, through platforms such as the arts, hertiage, music, dance or literature.
Lifetime Achievement
This award is especially for anyone who has worked tirelessly and constantly for the benefit of others for 20 years or more. It could be a volunteer, fundraiser, community leader, charity supporter or business person.
LGBTQ+ Champion
Judges will be looking for the person or group that has done the most to work in harmony with others to promote diversity, equality, and inclusion with the aim to positively discourage discrimination.
Volunteer
Our winner will be someone who selflessly devotes themselves to a cause and provides an invaluable, unpaid service to the community. Perhaps our volunteer champion runs a kids football team, organises neighbourhood watch or runs a local coffee morning?
Young Hero
Recognising those children or young people under the age of 18, who have demonstrated incredible courage or bravery. These incredible youngsters may have battled to overcome challenges or shown sheer strength and determination through a difficult time.
Swansea Bay Ambassador
This category recognises people who have made our city proud, who have represented our area, are role models and have never forgotten their roots.
